Academic Resources
Library Access
Study facilities at DBS include the DBS Main library, located on the second floor of the 13-14 Aungier Street building, as well as the Dame Street Postgraduage Library. By using up-to-date print and electronic resources, the libraries provide optimum facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Currently the combined book collection of the Library and Information Service stands at approximately 30,000 holdings, with journal holdings of 212 titles.
The collection has extensive resources in the areas of computing, economics, law, accounting, finance, management and marketing, psychology, literature, and anthropology. The Library’s professional staff ensure that the collection is always up to date by working closely with college lecturers, providing students with the most current materials available.
The Library provides access to information resources and areas for quiet study. Group study rooms are available to allow students to collaborate on joint projects and assignments. Dedicated research PCs are available for internet research and to allow students to consult our subscription-based electronic resources. Assignment PCs, photocopying facilities and access to past examination papers are also available in both libraries.
Computing Facilities
IT facilities include labs dedicated to student use, priority areas and access times for U.S. study abroad students, and a wireless network.
The IT system is supported by a full-time IT department and IT technicians are on site in certain locations. Students in media courses will have access to outstanding media editing suites and studios, complete with state-of-the-art software.
