Hadi Enayat

Born in Teheran, Iran, Hadi Enayat is currently completing his PhD at Birkbeck College, University of London.  With a BA in Politics and an MSc in Politics and Sociology, his doctoral dissertation is a sociological study of the development of modern law and legal institutions in early twentieth century Iran.  His research background includes refugee studies concerning Palestinian refugees in Egypt and political dissidents, homosexuals and religious minorities in Iran.  As a guest lecturer, Hadi has taught classes at Richmond College and Huron University on Islam.

In the past, Hadi has worked as a reviewer for the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, as an Editorial Assistant for I. B Tauris (a publishing company in Bloomsbury, London), and as a journalist and copy-editor for a newspaper and development agency in Cairo, Egypt.  Being fluent in Persian, he has also acted as a Persian Interpreter at the Oxford Magistrates Court.  In his spare time, Hadi volunteers as a project worker at the Stepping Stone Centre in Oxford, providing care and advice to homeless and vulnerable people.
