 ACADEMIC STRUCTURE

PHASE ONE (Seven Weeks)

Students enroll in one of FIE’s signature Key Courses to help them contextualize their experience in London within a broad, academic structure. In addition, students choose from a menu of FIE elective courses. The Key Course spans both semester phases. Some electives span both phases and some are available only during Phase One or Phase Two.

Key Course Options   Elective Courses

A variety of FIE Elective Courses are offered to students in the semester Study Program. Availability in each phase is based on overall student enrollment and faculty availability. Students enroll in a minimum of three elective courses.

MID-SEMESTER BREAK (One Week)

Students have the opportunity to explore London or travel to other destinations during this time. Our Student Life Team is available to answer questions and provide resources for travel planning.

PHASE TWO (Seven Weeks)

Key Course Options   Elective Courses

The Key Course continues to meet once a week in Phase Two.

A limited number of elective courses begun in Phase One continue to meet once a week in Phase Two. The occasional elective course is offered only in Phase Two.
