London Study Abroad Tube 4

BOOKING YOUR FLIGHT

We recommend booking a flight that lands in London on the morning of your program start date. FIE's orientation activities usually start the afternoon of your arrival date, so arriving in the morning gives you time to travel from the airport and check-in to your residence before the orientation sessions begin.

Once you have booked your flight, you must notify FIE of your travel details by completing the flight information questionnaire on the application portal. This questionnaire will be available around a month before your program starts and you will receive an email notification reminding you to fill this in.

If you have any questions about visas and immigration, you can either find the answers in the guides on our Before You Go page or you can contact our Immigration and Compliance Officer.

GETTING TO FIE FROM HEATHROW

London Heathrow Airport is the UK's largest airport and is where most of you will arrive to start your study abroad experience! We recommend that students arrive here as it is our closest major international airport and has multiple transport options that you can choose from including:

Some of our partner institutions arrange group coach transfers from the airport for their students. If this applies to you, your study abroad advisors will notify you of this during your pre-departure sessions and you will receive further instructions from FIE in the weeks prior to your arrival.

GETTING TO FIE FROM OTHER AIRPORTs

If you are arriving at London Gatwick Airport, follow the signs for the trains where you can take either the Southern service or the Gatwick Express service from the airport to London Victoria Station. From London Victoria Station, you can either take the District Line (green) or Circle Line (yellow) tube to Gloucester Road station, or take a taxi - there is a black taxi rank directly outside the main entrance.

If you're arriving at another airport, check out this helpful guide on the Transport for London website.
