The Foundation for International Education (www.fie.org.uk) is an international higher education organisation with over 25 years of expertise in developing and managing experiential learning experiences. Working in partnership with universities and colleges, primarily from the US, we provide immersive study abroad programmes for undergraduate students in London, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona and Amman.

FIE is currently seeking qualified, resourceful and confident applicants for the following full-time, permanent position.

 

Job Title: Experiential Education (Internship) Manager

Location: South Kensington, London, England (on-site)

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Start Date: December/January

Interviews: In person, in London week commencing 21st October 

Please note that this is a student-facing position which requires on-site working. Additionally, the post holder regularly conducts in-person visits to placement sites around the London area.

 

Job Summary: This key leadership role manages the members of the Experiential Education Team in planning, organising and overseeing internship and service internship placements for students, primarily in in the Greater London area. This includes researching and identifying work experience opportunities, networking in a varied range of job sectors, managing and shaping student expectations, and maintaining relationships with placement supervisors and home campus coordinators.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience (postgraduate degree desired)
  • An understanding of the international education sector
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with US or UK higher education environments, is desired
  • Experience working with internship or work experience placements, in career services or advising/counselling students, is desired

  • Ability to lead and motivate staff in a demanding work environment
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise a complex workload in a busy office
  • Ability to handle difficult, complex and challenging situations
  • Excellent communication skills; able to engage effectively with various groups of people
  • A strong command of written and spoken English and a high-quality telephone manner
  • Excellent IT skills with a knowledge of MS Office package and databases
