Internship Programs
London: Summer Internship Program (8 weeks)

Spend a memorable summer gaining international work experience in one of the world’s premier global cities with an FIE signature internship with a small-to-midsize British company, organization or non-profit. We have numerous industry areas of study and accommodate almost all majors. You’ll enroll in two courses, our International Internship Course plus our signature British Life and Cultures course, spending two and a half days per week in class, and two and a half at your internship placement.
Please note the Service Internship Pathway is not available in the Summer Term.
Dublin: Summer Internship Program (8 weeks)

For those looking for a more intensive internship experience, our Dublin Summer Internship program delivers. For 8 weeks, you’ll intern full-time, four days a week Monday to Thursday, in a small to mid-size Irish company or non-profit, plus you’ll enroll in FIE’s signature International Internship Course alongside.
Like London, we have numerous industry areas of study and accommodate most majors. With the internship course and placement taking place four days a week, much of the program allows for three-day weekends to explore and travel this beautiful country.
Madrid: Summer Internship Program (8 weeks)
- Beginning of June to Late July
- Required Internship Course (3 US credits) + One or Two Spanish Courses (3-6 US credits)

Internships are available in Madrid through our academic partner, Universidad Nebrija, for students with upper-intermediate Spanish language skills. Internships are with local small, medium, and large sized businesses and organizations and the local language is used within the internship setting. For 8 weeks, students have the opportunity to work and live in this vibrant European capital, with plenty of time on the weekends to explore the beautiful country of Spain and mainland Europe.

Explore the beautiful island nation of Ireland during the most beautiful time of year. This program packs a huge amount of content into a month and a half. You’ll enroll in two courses, our signature Irish Life and Cultures class, plus a class taught by our partner university, Dublin Business School, on Digital Media Environments, where you’ll learn about and meet with some of Ireland’s biggest and best tech companies while producing a digital media campaign.
Numerous field trips in greater Dublin plus two long-weekend study tours to Northern Ireland and the beautiful west coast of Ireland round out this meaty immersion program into the Emerald Isle.
Dublin, Belfast + Amman: Conflict and the Struggle for Peace – Explorations in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Middle East (5 Weeks)

One of the most unique study abroad experiences available to students today, this intensive program puts you on-site at the forefront of two of the world’s foremost countries with a rich and ongoing history of peace and conflict resolution. This program is a partnership between FIE and AMIDEAST, a leading provider of and expert in Middle East study abroad experiences.
While Ireland and Jordan might seem like an unlikely pair at first glance, these two nations have continually walked the lines of peace despite sensitive cultural and societal roots of conflict. Examine their struggles — and their victories — in this unique program that begins in Dublin, traverses to Northern Ireland, and finishes in Amman. Plus, for students interested in learning Modern Standard Arabic or Jordanian Arabic, you can tack on an intensive language course at the end of this program and extend your time in Amman.
You’ll enroll in two courses taught by two of the world’s foremost experts on Irish and Jordanian conflict and peace resolution, experience numerous field trips and co-curricular activities in all three locations, enjoy comfortable housing including homestays with families in Jordan, and immerse in the cultures of these diverse nations. Additionally, FIE includes round-trip airfare between Dublin and Amman.

Not only are our programs affordable, but all of our summer programs also come with the opportunity to apply for generous scholarships - and FIE does not charge an application fee. Additionally, you may be able to use your federal, state, or university financial aid or scholarships on our programs, but check with your home campus study abroad and financial aid offices to be sure.

FIE offers summer options for students on both semester and quarter calendars. Our London Summer Internship and Dublin Summer Study programs each have an option for quarter institutions, in addition to those attending semester schools.
