Faissal is a Lecturer in History and Cultural Studies. He has a BA in History and Politics and an MA in African/Asian History from SOAS, University of London, and a PhD in Modern History, from the University of Birmingham. Faissal’s academic specialisation is in the field of Global History with a focus on Britain’s relations with Commonwealth countries in South Asia and the Middle East. He has offered seminars at national and international fora and has taught at the University of Birmingham, England; Birkbeck, University of London; Richmond, American University London; and Northeastern University London. Previously Faissal served as Director of Academics at FIE and Programme Director at Birkbeck, University of London. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has co-edited a book with the Joseph Interfaith Foundation titled: Confronting anti-Semitism and Islamophobia – An exploration of their socio-historic and theological roots. Faissal is the recipient of FIE’s Rajini Pani Outstanding Faculty Award for 2023.
