Dr. Chenyang Wang is a lecturer at the University of Essex, specializing in psychoanalytic theory, gender, and sexuality. He earned his PhD in Psychosocial Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London, in 2018. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Wang served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Philosophy at East China Normal University. His research explores the intricate interactions between society and the psyche, leading him to engage in projects on AIDS prevention, domestic violence, and psychological well-being. Dr. Wang has published extensively in psychoanalysis, cultural studies, and gender studies. His monograph on psychology of Time was released by Palgrave in 2019, and his translation of Elisabeth Roudinesco’s biography of Lacan followed in 2020. Outside academia, Dr. Wang enjoys photography, hiking, and reading history books. He also shares his home with a beloved black cat.
