Nick J. Gozik is Dean of Global Education and Assistant Professor at Elon University. Previously, he held positions in international education at Boston College, Duke University, New York University, and the University of Richmond. He has served as a visiting professor at New York University, as well as a lecturer at Boston College and Lesley University.
Gozik has conducted research on identity, race, and schooling in France, using history-geography education on the French island of Martinique as a case study. He has contributed to research at the Social Science Research Council on internationalization, interdisciplinarity, and boundary-crossing in U.S. higher education, through the lens of area studies centers. More recently, his academic and professional work has focused on outcomes assessment, faculty development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in global programming. Among his publications, he has co-edited Promoting Inclusion in Education Abroad: A Handbook of Research and Practice (Stylus/NAFSA, 2018).
Gozik has held a number of leadership positions in international education, including serving as Chair of The Forum on Education Abroad's Forum Council, the highest elected position in the organization. He currently serves as Editor of NAFSA's Global Studies Literature Review.
Gozik holds an M.A. in French Language and Civilization and Ph.D. in International Education from New York University.
