I need regular treatment for my medical condition - can I arrange this in Dublin?

If you require regular treatment (e.g. blood tests, infusions, injections etc.), we advise you to reach out to a GP in Dublin as soon as possible. Previous students have made arrangements for regular treatment through Thomas Court Medical Centre and Aungier Street Medical Clinic, whose details can be found on our Medical Services page.

Please be aware that most insurance policies, including FIE's group travel insurance policy with Endsleigh, do not cover treatment for pre-existing conditions. It may however be worth reaching out to them or another insurer to discuss whether additional coverage can be arranged.

Are you a student from the EEA (European Economic Area) or Switzerland?

EEA & Swiss students must have a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), obtained in your home country or online. The EHIC card allows access to state-provided healthcare and will cover treatment that is necessary during your time in Ireland. For additional guidance see the Citizen's Information website

You will still need valid travel insurance - the EHIC is not an alternative to this coverage. See our Insurance page for guidance.
