All services listed on this page can be located on the FIE Kensington Campus google map.
ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY (A&E) DEPARTMENTS
In the event of a life-threatening emergency, dial 999 for an ambulance or go directly to your nearest A&E (the British ER) department. Two of the closest A&E departments to the FIE Kensington Campus are located at:
Chelsea & Westminster Hospital
369 Fulham Road, London, SW10 9NH
St Mary's Hospital
Praed Street, London, W2 1NY
If you go to A&E or are otherwise hospitalized, please notify FIE as soon as possible so that we can best support so. You can do so by calling our 24 hour emergency number: +44 (0)207 808 0131.
You should also notify your insurance provider as soon as possible - if you are covered by FIE's group travel insurance policy with Endsleigh, all policy documents are available here.
A&E services are exempt from charges so are free - this does not include emergency treatment if admitted to hospital. Click here for further information about accessing NHS services as a visitor.
Click here for more information on when to go to A&E.
NHS 111
NHS 111 is a free service that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can help if you have an urgent medical problem and you are not sure what to do.
Click here to access their service online or dial 111 from a phone. You will be asked questions about your symptoms via the website or by a fully trained advisor over the phone.
You will either be giving self-care advice, be connected to a service that can help you or, depending on the situation, be given an arrival time to go to A&E.
Click here for more information when to use NHS 111.
NHS URGENT TREATMENT CENTRES
For urgent medical attention that is not life-threatening, you may be able to be seen at an Urgent Treatment Centre operated by the NHS. Two of the closest centres to the FIE Kensington Campus are located at:
Parsons Green NHS Walk-in Centre
5-7 Parsons Green, London, SW6 4UL
Soho Walk-in Centre
1 Frith St, Soho, London, W1D 3HZ
Treatment at the centres listed above is free, but you will need to pay for medication if prescribed - the current NHS prescription fee is £9.65 per item.

GENERAL PRACTITIONERS (GP'S)
In the US, the equivalent of a General Practitioner (GP) is typically referred to as a Primary Care Physician (PCP) or a Family Doctor. GPs treat a range of conditions, and you may need to see a GP for consultation, treatment, or referral to a specialist. FIE has a relationship with the following GP services:
DocTap
DocTap is a private GP service offering same and next-day appointments at any of their clinics across London. Two of the closest clinics to the FIE Kensington Campus are located at:
- DocTap Bond Street: John Bell & Croyden, 50-54 Wigmore St., London W1U 2AU
- DocTap Victoria: Keencare Pharmacy, 6 Lower Belgrave Street, London SW1W 0LJ
As part of your FIE application, you will be asked if you would like to register with DocTap. Should you agree, you will be registered before your arrival in London. FIE will be notified if you make an appointment, but all other information, including the reason for the appointment, remains fully confidential.
Most general GP appointments with DocTap cost £49, but prices vary depending on the service accessed and the treatment required. Please note that as DocTap is a private GP, many insurance providers, including FIE's group travel insurance provider Endsleigh, will not cover the costs of their services. Consequently, you will need to pay in full. This service is ideal if you need to book a GP appointment quickly. Booking online ensures a set appointment time, unlike attending a walk-in clinic. There is no need to be registered with an NHS GP surgery to book an appointment with DocTap. You can book your doctor's appointment online through their website.
If you prefer to see a doctor in person, there are options available near Foundation House:
Kynance Practice
7 Kynance Place, London, SW7 4QS
Chelsea Medical Practice
45 Rosary Gardens, London, SW7 4NQ
Both practices offer in-person consultations on a private basis, with appointment availability varying according to demand. GP appointments at these practices can cost between £100 and £200. It is advisable to confirm the costs with the practice before booking. As these are private practices, many insurance providers, including FIE's group travel insurance provider Endsleigh, will not cover the costs of their services. So, you will need to pay in full.
pharmacies
Pharmacists are qualified professionals who can offer you advice and over-the-counter medications for a range of ailments. They are usually a good first port of call for minor illnesses as they can either offer you help straight away or refer you to a GP or other professional if your symptoms are more serious.
There are a number of pharmacies in the local area, but most students will use Boots, next to Gloucester Road station or the 24 hour pharmacy, Zafash, near Earl's Court:
Boots Pharmacy
128 Gloucester Road, London, SW7 4SF
Zafash Pharmacy (24 hours)
233 Old Brompton Road, London, SW5 0EA
SEXUAL HEALTH CLINICS
Sexual health clinics are free, confidential and available to everyone. Most clinics can help you if you need contraception (including emergency contraception), Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) or Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) treatment, advice on sexually transmitted infections (STIs), or support with pregnancy or abortion. Some sexual health services are also available from GPs, pharmacies and other health providers. The clinics below are all a short distance from the FIE Kensington Campus:
Dean Street
56 Dean Street, Soho, London, W16 6AQ
Hammersmith Broadway
10 Hammersmith Broadway, London, W6 7AL
Jefferiss Wing Sexual Health Clinic
St Mary's Hospital, Praed Street, London, W2 1NY
John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health
St Stephen’s Centre, 369 Fulham Road, London, SW10 9NH
DENTISTS
We recommend having all routine dental treatment and check-ups done before departing for your study abroad program, but emergency dental treatment is available in London, including from the dentists listed below. Some emergency dental treatment is covered by insurance policies, including FIE's group travel insurance policy with Endsleigh, but you must contact your insurer before seeing the dentist to confirm if coverage is available for treatment from the dentists listed or from another provider.

21 Thurloe Place, South Kensington, London SW7 2SP
