Arriving in Dublin

If your school makes group arrangements in coordination with FIE, please follow your group’s instructions for arrival in Dublin. Check with your study abroad advisor.

FIE Dublin students live in Blackhall Place Residences Griffith Halls of Residence  or University College Dublin (UCD) Residences  depending on your program. You will be notified via email at least one month before departure of where you will be residing. All students will be met at Dublin airport by an FIE staff member and transported to their residence halls. If you are arriving outside the designated arrival slot you will have to make your own way to the residence halls. Please let a member of staff know before arrival if you plan to make your way independently from the airport.

You are required to inform FIE of your flight arrangements prior to your program.  If your scheduled flight is delayed, please contact FIE at:

FIE Dublin Office: +353-1-417-8784
Resident Director: +353-87-1200-553
Associate Resident Director: +353-83-863-3208

 FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT

BY TAXI
A taxi from the airport to any one of the residence halls will cost between €25-€35. UCD may cost a bit more. This is expensive, but if you are sharing a cab with another student and have heavy luggage, you may find it worthwhile. There are clear directions to the taxi stand in both Terminal 1 and 2.

BY BUS
There are no train services from Dublin airport so the only way, other than taxi, is to take the bus to your residence halls. The number 16  Dublin bus takes you directly to Griffith Halls on the South Circular road. You would need to take 1-2 buses to reach Blackhall Place, depending on your luggage load and walking ability. UCD can be reached on the Dublin Aircoach, which is a faster bus than regular Dublin bus services. A single journey on Dublin bus costs approximately €3. Drivers only accept coins and do not give change.
