Dr Chenyang Wang currently teaches psychoanalytic theory, gender, and sexuality at the University of Essex. He obtained his PhD in Psychosocial Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London in 2018. After that, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Philosophy at East China Normal University. Chenyang has a strong interest in the interaction between the social and the psyche, which leads him to participate in many related research projects on topics including AIDS prevention, domestic violence, and psychological well-being. He has written extensively in the field of psychoanalysis, and cultural and gender studies. His monograph on a psychoanalytic understanding of time was published by Palgrave in 2019, and his translation of Elisabeth Roudinesco’s biography of Lacan was published in 2020.
